The Friends of the Silvis Library is a non-profit group that listens to the needs of the Library. The Friends have provided funding for many items that the Library may not have been able to purchase with a limited budget. The Friends also supplement the Children's Programming by providing funds for the annual Summer Reading Program and othe reading events that encourage children to read. Your membership is valuable and lets you choose how little or how much you want to participate in fundraising. You are always welcome to join us at our meetings. Or you may want to show your support by donating to our planned events, such as bake sales, raffles, and craft sales. You may donate books and magazines for our ongoing Book Sale at the Library. The book sale is a consistent asset to our funds. We accept donations of new items to be used as prizes and rewards for the Summer Reading Program. The Friends members donate school supplies to be used for a Book Bag drawing each summer during the Summer Reading Program. Our Greenschool Recycling Project collects used inkjet and laser printer cartridges and cell phones. Look for our green container as you enter the Library. Purchase one of our Friends book bags for a reasonable price at the Library.
